Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a new driveway take to install?

Most domestic driveways in Warrington take two to five days from dig out to finish, depending on the size of the area and the surface you go for. The dig out and sub-base is usually the first day or two, and the surfacing follows once the base is compacted and levelled. Bad weather and unexpected ground conditions are the two things that push a job longer, and we will tell you up front if either looks likely.

Do I need planning permission for a driveway in Warrington?

Usually not. If the surface is permeable, or if the water from an impermeable surface drains to a lawn, border or soakaway inside your own boundary, you do not need permission. You only need planning permission if you lay more than five square metres of impermeable surface on a front garden and the water runs straight off onto the road. If you are dropping a kerb to create a new access, that is a separate application to the council.

Which driveway surface should I choose?

It depends on the budget, the look you want and how hard the drive works. Tarmac suits larger areas and drives where cost per square metre matters. Resin looks the smartest and drains through, so it sidesteps the planning issue. Block paving gives you pattern and colour and lets a single damaged block be swapped. Concrete is the strongest and best for vans, caravans and trailers. We will come out, look at what you have and tell you honestly which one fits.

Do you cover my area?

We install driveways across Warrington and the surrounding areas, covering the WA postcodes and the towns and villages either side of the town centre. If you are not sure whether you are inside our patch, ring us with your postcode and we will tell you straight away.
